Approximate solutions and scaling transformations for quadratic solitons
We study quadratic solitons supported by two- and three-wave parametric interactions in chi((2)) nonlinear media. Both planar and two-dimensional cases are considered. We obtain very accurate, "almost exact," explicit analytical solutions, matching the actual bright soliton profiles, with the help of a specially developed approach, based on analysis of the scaling properties. Additionally, we u...
متن کاملQuadratic solitons as nonlocal solitons.
We show that quadratic solitons are equivalent to solitons of a nonlocal Kerr medium. This provides new physical insight into the properties of quadratic solitons, often believed to be equivalent to solitons of an effective saturable Kerr medium. The nonlocal analogy also allows for analytical solutions and the prediction of bound states of quadratic solitons.

In the paper we establish the general solution of the function equation f(2x+y)+f(2x-y) = f(x+y)+f(x-y)+2f(2x)-2f(x) and investigate the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of this equation in 2-Banach spaces.
متن کاملQuadratic Solitons: Recent Developments
Multicolor optical solitons mediated by quadratic nonlinearities have been observed experimentally during the last few years in a variety of materials and geometries in a number of laboratories around the world. Today, many of the basic properties of the corresponding soliton families are theoretically well established. Nevertheless, experiments continuously reveal new surprises, and the topic ...
متن کاملapproximate analytical solution for quadratic riccati differential equation
in this paper, we introduce an efficient method for solving the quadratic riccati differential equation. in this technique, combination of laplace transform and new homotopy perturbation methods (ltnhpm) are considered as an algorithm to the exact solution of the nonlinear riccati equation. unlike the previous approach for this problem, so-called nhpm, the present method, does not need the init...
